Cryptocurrency – Legality in Malaysia

Yes, it is legal. On 4 November 2013, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) met with local bitcoin proponents to research more about the currency but did not remark at the time. BNM issued a statement on 6 January 2014 that bitcoin is not acknowledged as a legal tender in Malaysia. The central bank will not adjust bitcoin operations at the second and users have to conscious of the dangers related with bitcoin usage.
