3D Secure Payment Verification

3-D Secure is an XML-based protocol that enhances protection for Internet credit card payments. It was first developed by Visa, followed by MasterCard, JCB International and American Express.
3-D Secure Payment Process
1. Users place orders at merchant sites.

2. Payment provider requests users to enter credit card details.

3. The card’s issuing bank secure page will pop up to identify the user account. New users have to register to activate the 3D Secure feature, while existing users directly enter their personal message or password for validation.

4. User defines personal message and password (this step is only applicable to new users).

5. User validates the secure authentication.

6. Transaction is complete.
